It's tough for Australia to break new ground.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the peak baggers, are all that remain for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their hitters to hold a record if not provided the chance.

Ultimately, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given a platform to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was considerably tougher to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it's been a challenging time because it seemed my form was missing at all," stated Healy.

"But once you take the field, your fighting spirit kick in and you completely engage with the competition."

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the right-hander was on her way.

"A chance to take the field and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was dismissed the team required another 66 at run per delivery - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the confidence to do that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if we do, we believe we can succeed."

Those words will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this championship should hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this victory following victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this tournament is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve an international tournament as captain.

Success in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
